Sharing ideas and perspectives are a couple of my favorite things in life. So here’s some about technology, markets, economic catalysts, and more. Ideally, what I write will spark ideas you hadn’t had before. Please tell me where and why you agree/disagree with my thoughts, and apologies in advance for any errors I may have made.
A little bit about me: I’m currently on the investment team at Pace Capital, a Series-A focused venture capital fund based in NYC, working with Jordan Cooper & Chris Paik. Before this, I’ve done a bunch of different jobs. Below I share them in reverse chronological order and a bit about what I learned from each.
- Consulting with the Boston Consulting Group, where I saw that software is only beginning to penetrate Fortune 500 companies. I believe there’s so much opportunity there.
- Pursued academia with a Master’s fellowship at Yenching Academy, where I published in educational and cognitive psychology journals, and did applied machine learning research at UPenn. Though I love research (see: nerd), academia as an institution was too bureaucratic and slow-moving for me.
- Started and sold a shared space storage startup. I learned that nothing makes me more excited and fulfilled than spending time with people that are excited to go to work every day.
- Attended Brown University, double majoring in Mathematics and Contemplative Studies (yes, it’s only a major at Brown). I realized I was a first-gen college student, and do my best to continue mentoring and advocating for first-gen student success.
- Sold Cutco knives (at one point #1/15,000 in the nation). Concluded that listening is the most important skill, bar none.
